Clinical Negligence Solicitor
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our legal team.
It would be preferable that they also have experience in other areas of litigation (e.g. personal injury, criminal injury and dispute resolution). The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of clinical negligence claims, provide expert legal advice and deliver high-quality representation to clients who have suffered harm as a result of medical care. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent client care, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team.

Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of clinical negligence matters from initial instruction through to settlement or trial.
- Conduct detailed investigations into potential claims, including reviewing medical records, obtaining expert evidence, and assessing liability and causation.
- Draft legal documents, including letters of claim, statements of case, witness statements, and settlement documents.
- Liaise with clients sensitively and professionally, providing clear advice on case progress, risks, and likely outcomes.
- Engage with medical experts, counsel, and external stakeholders to progress claims efficiently and effectively.
- Attend mediations, conferences, and court hearings as required.
- Negotiate settlements to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements, including CPR, Pre-Action Protocols, and SRA guidelines.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case management system records.
About you
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (minimum 2–3 years PQE in clinical negligence preferred).
- Strong understanding of clinical/medical negligence law, CPR, and litigation procedures.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex, high-value, or sensitive claims.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of empathy, professionalism, and client-care ability.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with legal case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
