The team at Cooklaw are excited to be celebrating a significant achievement, having been shortlisted as finalists in not one, but three categories at the upcoming 2025 Northern Law Awards. This triple shortlisting serves as a powerful testament to the hard work, expertise and client-focused approach that defines us. Being recognised across the firm, within a key team and for individual leadership, highlights the strength and depth of talent within the practice.
The nominations include Law Firm of the Year (1-5 partners) and Team of the Year -Property (Residential). The nomination for Law Firm of the Year is particularly poignant as it coincides with our recent move to new premises and the expansion of the Cooklaw team. The shortlisting reflects our consistent delivery of high-quality legal services and our reputation within the North East region. Furthermore, the residential property team shortlist celebrates our collaborative spirit and dedication to providing seamless legal support to clients navigating the property market.
Adding to the excitement is the well-deserved nomination of Ruth Markham for Lawyer of the Year. Ruth, who heads Cooklaw’s newest department which specialises in Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Litigation, has demonstrated exceptional leadership and legal acumen, making a significant impact since joining the firm. Being selected as finalist not only recognises her individual talent but also reflects Cooklaw’s strategic growth and expansion into new areas of expertise.
